Living in Arkansas for ten years I do enjoy seeing former Razorbacks playing for the Raiders. We now have two!!! Starting his sixth season is veteran running-back Darren McFadden and now joining him is rookie quarterback Tyler Wilson.
“Rookie quarterback Tyler Wilson’s first training camp practice is one he would rather forget. At one point, he was intercepted three times in a four-pass span.”
“In Wilson’s defense, safety Cory Nelms made a spectacular play on a well-thrown pass for receiver Conner Vernon down the left sideline. Nelms arrived at the last second, leaped and snared the ball just before Vernon could get his hands on the ball.”
“Cornerback Joselio Hanson and safety Reggie Smith also registered interceptions. In other drills, Wilson made a handful of nice throws and showed nice zip on his passes.”
The quotes came from a reporters blog noting the first day of practice. Hang in there Tyler.
Tyler Wilson’s career with the Raiders was short-lived. He came into camp as the number three QB but lost out to walk-on Matt McGloin. As Tlyer was the fourth stringer when it came time to drop to the 53 man roster he was cut and then signed to the practice squad. Then in the season Terrelle Pryor was the starter and Matt Flynn the backup; Pryor got injured and Flynn flopped. This forced the team to start the third stringer McGloin and to move Wilson up off the practice squad. But when Pryor returned and with the offensive line getting decimated the Raiders were forced to cut the third string QB to make room for linemen and Tyler was gone by mid-season; to the Titans I believe. NFL; Not For Long.
